The objective of this scenario is to guide you through the steps necessary to extend an existing Aviatrix backbone from an Azure-based infrastructure to AWS while integrating on-premises manufacturing facilities. In doing so, you’ll leverage Aviatrix’s capabilities to ensure seamless operations, even amid compliance and regulatory constraints.
Business Scenario and Requirement
Your company ACE-Automotive is a key player in the automotive manufacturing industry in the USA and Europe. You currently run a 100% Azure-based operation with hybrid connectivity to the data center on-prem edge. Recently, your company has established strategic partnerships with new component and parts suppliers.
The majority of these suppliers are utilizing AWS including suppliers like BMW Group, RIVIAN, and Volkswagon Groups. Some automotive parts and infotainment system suppliers in Europe cannot connect directly with the Azure VNET, vWAN, or Azure Route Service (ARS) due to their strict compliance restrictions.
Your job as head of cloud networking is to extend the already deployed Aviatrix Cloud Backbone in Azure to AWS. Your CIO and CTO are also demanding to connect the AWS backbone to On-Prem using Direct Connect with the least costly option.
Another business objective is to provide high availability between the Azure and AWS environments so that if the Azure to AWS Internet link is down, the traffic can be routed between these clouds using the on-prem Data Center.
